Pod - hire

Rock Solid Slings

  • £10.00

A pod is short for podaegi, and a podaegi is a traditional Korean baby carrier. Podaegis had short shoulder straps at the top of a rectangular blanket, and were usually used for carrying a little one on the wearer's back.

It falls generally into the category of Asian Based Carriers – a panel, usually rectangular, with straps at the shoulders and waist that either tie or clip such as Mei Tai, Onbuhimo, Hmong, Structured Soft Carriers… the choice is immense!

A Podaegi has no waistband, and that makes it wonderfully versatile. Most versions of Pods now have longer straps, so that you can wear your Pod in many of the same ways that you might wear a woven wrap, as well as some of the ways you might use a mei tai.  The design of a Pod means that you’re not limited by the width of the seat or the height of the rise like a mei tai, so they are truely newborn to toddler, and with much less of a learning curve than with a woven wrap.

This means that the wonderful Podaegi is quick to master, quick to use, they fold up small and one size fits most - for both babies being carried in them and adults using them!

You could try.....a front wrap cross carry, or a double hammock tied at shoulder? Wear it as a dress? Wrap it round you and chase after that energetic toddler, then swish them up on your back for a rest.

And grab a pair of sling rings for a beautiful finish!
